ursula blickle video prize 2010
After many years of promoting young student artists, the ursula blickle video prize has been reconceived,
and in spring 2012 it will be awarded for the first time for internationally relevant contributions to
the development and significance of video art. The prizewinner will be selected by an international jury.
The ursula blickle video archive is a cooperation between the Ursula Blickle Stiftung, the University of
Applied Arts Vienna, and the Kunsthalle Wien. Conceived as a mediatheque, the archive is a research platform
for scholarly and curatorial practice. In the ursula blickle video lounge, works by international artists or
video compilations are shown on the big screen in programs that change monthly. Admission is free to both the
lounge and the archive. The culmination of this successful, long-standing cooperation is the exhibition VIDEORAMA.
Art clips from Austria that was developed in the video archive and successfully presented at the Kunsthalle Wien
and at other international institutions. In 2011 the show will travel to Moscow and Zagreb.
