The high point of years of successful collaboration between Ursula
Blickle and the Kunsthalle Wien was the exhibition Videorama: Artclips
from Austria in Vienna and New York, which opened in late 2009. In 2010
Videorama will tour the world and be shown at fifteen venues in all.
The works were selected by a jury composed of Massimiliano Gioni,
Sabine Himmelsbach, Ian White, and the curator of the show, Angela
Stief, who examined the ursula blickle video archive and selected
outstanding current video art.
The ursula blickle video archive is a cooperative project of the Ursula
Blickle Stiftung, the Universität für angewandte
Kunst Wien, and the Kunsthalle Wien. Originally conceived as a digital
media library, has grown into an archive of about 2,500
artists’ videos that is an exemplary set of tools for the
work of students, scholars, and curators.
The ursula blickle video lounge presents on a large screen works by
internationally renowned artists or curated video compilations in
programs that change monthly. Both the lounge and the archive are open
to the public at no charge.
The ursula blickle video prize is awarded annually to a student at the
Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien.
