Jesper Just
Film
Opening: March 03, 2007, 7:00 p.m.
Duration: 04.03. - 15.04.2006
The Danish artist Jesper Just (*1974, Copenhagen) primarily works with the medium
of short film, in which he skillfully weaves images and music into episodes with
richly expressive atmospheres. Simultaneously complex and pervaded by melancholy,
Just sketches deeply intimate emotions and interpersonal relationships on very
different levels.
The exhibition will be shown simultaneously at four venues in Europe. For the first
time, an extensive range of Just’s filmic work will be presented to an international
audience at the Ursula Blickle Foundation, Kraichtal, Witte de With, Rotterdam,
ursula blickle videolounge at Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna, and SMAK, Gent. Along with
his most recent work, the trilogy It Will All End In Tears, the show will also present
many of his earlier productions. In addition, Just will produce a new film especially
for the exhibition. Thus the audience will be given a comprehensive look at the
artist’s entire oeuvre.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the Ursula Blickle Foundation, WdW Publishers,
and SMAK, will be producing a comprehensive catalogue on Jesper Just’s work.
